How to Sell Your Night At The Races Fundraiser

  • Create excitement and get the word out
  • Place Ads via the internet and print
  • Send out invites to "Save The Date" on social media
  • Create an event on Facebook and invite your Friends
  • Print and sell admission tickets
  • Sell horses
  • Sell advertisement in the race program
  • Sell race sponsorships
  • Sell tables (Corporate or Group) Solicit businesses and individuals for donations:
  • Cash donations
  • Gift cards or coupons for free services (great for door prizes)
  • Gift items (great for Chinese raffle) larger items can be raffled by themselves while smaller gift items can be assembled into themed baskets, i.e.; “Movie Night” basket, “Pamper Yourself” basket, “Romance” basket, etc.
  • Bucket of booze (fill up a huge bucket or cooler with assorted adult beverages) Sell these tickets for a price higher than the Chinese raffle tickets.
  • Big ticket items i.e.; autographed sports memorabilia, paintings, golf bags, corn hole sets, etc. (silent auction items)

Please note: The rates suggested below are not indicative of all events. This guide is meant to serve as an example of how much you can expect to raise prior to the doors opening to the event. We do our best to advise and share what we have learned over the years from past and current clients. It is important to adjust the numbers based on your particular circumstances.

1. Ticket Sales

Gross $7,000 - $9,000

Entry fee for food, drink and entertainment: $35 - $45 per person

2. Individual Horse Sponsorships

Gross $1,800 - $2,500

Sell horses for $20 - $25 each (Try to sell at least 90 horses. Please max sales at 100 horses)

3. Table Sponsorships

Gross $1,800 - $2,500

Sell table sponsorships for $50 each (Sponsors can promote their business at the event! They’ll get their company featured as the centerpiece of a dedicated table for the night)

4. Race Sponsorships

Gross $1,000

Sell 10 race sponsors for $100 each (Sponsors will have their name, business, or company logo and information printed in the race programs and announced during the sponsored race)

5. Event Sponsorships

Sell 5 - Gross $1,250 Sell 10 - Gross $2,500

Sell event sponsorships for $250 each (Sponsors will have their name, business, or company logo and information printed in the race programs, promoted on the organizations social media for the event, and on the big screen between the races at the event)

6. Advertising

Gross $1,150

Sell advertising in the race program. Business Card size ad $15 / 1/4 Page Ad $25 / 1/2 Page Ad $50 / Full Page Ad $75. If you sell the minimum space available (12 Full Pages + 10 1/4 Pages)

If the committee and volunteers do their part and presell the minimums suggested above, your organization should gross anywhere between $14,000 and $18,650 before the event begins.
